Shruti Bedi

Prof. (Dr.) Shruti Bedi is a distinguished legal scholar, an influential voice in constitutional law, and an academic leader shaping contemporary  legal thought. As Professor of Law and Director at the University Institute  of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University, Chandigarh, she has been at the forefront of legal education, and policy discourse. She is also an International Fellow at the National Institute of Military Justice, Washington DC, a Visiting Professor at Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia, and  Director of the Centre for Constitution and Public Policy at UILS. Additionally, she serves as the Chief Editor of Forces Law review , the world''''s first global military law journal.

With an impressive portfolio of scholarship, Prof.  Bedi has authored and edited ten books, including Indian  Counter-Terrorism  Law (Lexis Nexis, 2016) and Artificial Intelligence and Constitutionalism (oakbridge, 2024). Her research  spans critical intersections of law, technology, and governance, reflected in over 90 publications in leading national  and international  journals, books, and media platforms. She has lectured at some of the world''''s  most prestigious institutions, including the  University of Toronto, the University of Ottawa, Nottingham Law School, and premier universities in Brazil, Indonesia, and Vietnam.

Prof. Bedi''s contributions  to law and public policy have been widely recognized. She was honoured as The Phenomenal She, 2022 by the Indian National Bar Association and acknowledged by the British Deputy High Commission for her role in strengthening  Indo-British legal heritage. A TEDx speaker and a thought leader, She continues to push the boundaries of legal scholarship.
